Kate Nash - Merry Happy
Remember how in high school, you get about 3 tests on the perfect job for you? Every single one of them told me my temperament and habits fit an upholsterer perfectly. I was like... whaaat? Upholsterer? What? I couldn't quite imagine myself designing and making furniture. So much work! Well, I ended up majoring in fashion design, which is close enough.
But lately, I've been really interested in furniture. Maybe I'm getting old and craving stability, or maybe I'm sick of living like a student, or maybe I'll blame it on Rachel Ashwell, since I think it started when I looked through the pretty pictures of her Shabby Chic Interiors book.
So I had this chair that my sister and I got at Salvation army for $7 last year. I changed the cushion cover when I got it, but I didn't have time to do anything to it then.

I ended up getting paint (Behr premium plus ultra, flat in Bleached Linen) from Home Depot for $11. I was really excited.
I also wanted a new cover for the cushion part. I went to JetRag's $1 Sunday, hoping I'd get some kind of peach coloured hideous cotton dress or something. I got a pretty green one that has sweet white flowers on it, $1. When I saw it, I knew I wanted to use it.

I took a bunch of pics. I didn't even use a paintbrush. I have so much fabric lying around, leftover from projects in school, I use them as rags for painting, heh.
I'm quite happy with the results. I spent a total of $19 on this chair, yay! I'll be doing a bunch more of these things. I already have my eye on a wingback chair.
